Big Book Coven is an intimate retreat for women who crave good books, deep rest and space to wander inward. Set in Shela, Lamu island, we mix the quiet magic of a reading holiday with creative workshops inspired by the beloved book Women Who Run with the Wolves.
You can bring five books or just one, write or not write, talk a lot or barely speak... It’s up to you!
core pillars
Wild Reading Guests can choose to only dive into their own book stack or also read selected Women Who Run With the Wolves chapters — no pressure, just space.
Optional Workshops One session a day (60–90 min), inspired by the selected chapters. Think journal prompts, art play.
Sacred Solitude Long stretches of unstructured time to read, nap, explore, dream, or stare at the ocean. Guests are encouraged to claim silence without apology.
Soft Ceremony Simple opening + closing rituals, barefoot days, shared meals. No forced vulnerability, just presence.
Digital Detox Guests are encouraged to put their phones away for the duration of the retreat.
This is for you if you crave a reset that’s soft and soulful and you’re done waiting for “the right time” to give something to yourself.

Hi! I’m Yaye - reader, writer, lover of wild-hearted women and big, beautiful books (& my kindle).
I created this retreat to gather brilliant, book-loving women because I love the kind of magic that happens when women gather without pretension.
It’s a space for women to breathe, reflect, connect, and be a little wild. The chance to be both held and free.
I’m not a guru - just a gal who’s been moved by Women Who Run With the Wolves and wants to hold space for others to explore their own stories.
Think of me as your host, fellow book lover, and slightly feral facilitator.
